FNU Sponsors Second Season of Critically Acclaimed PBS Drama “Call the Midwife”

FEBRUARY 2013: Frontier Nursing University (FNU) will sponsor the second season of “Call the Midwife”, the critically acclaimed British drama, debuting on PBS March 31, 2013. FNU was an underwriter in select markets for the first season of the series in fall 2012 after the show’s United States debut. The University will be sponsoring the second season with advertising spots running in both Kentucky and Florida for each of the eight episodes.
The show was the highest-rated BBC new drama launch on record in Great Britain and was well-received in the United States, rating 50% above PBS’ primetime average for the season.
FNU will have ad spots on Kentucky Educational Television (KET) reaching 5.5 million viewers in an eight-state region and PBS Florida-based stations reaching 5 million households in Orlando, Miami and Tampa areas. “We are thrilled with the popularity Call the Midwife has gained in the US market and we are excited to sponsor the series for a second season,” shares Dr. Susan Stone, President and Dean of Frontier Nursing University.
FNU will host a “Call the Midwife” two premiere events where the local community is invited to catch a sneak peak of the season by viewing the first episode. These events will be held in Lexington, Kentucky and also in Tampa, Florida on March 27th.
